It is soft and fluffy, the legs have bean-bag type stuffing in the feet, and it is very huggable. I wanted to give it to my grandaughter immediately because she was talking about wanting a black kitty, but it is for Christmas. My daughter said Webkinz is a very educational site and she thinks her daughter (who is a preschooler) will be able to participate in the website as long as someone is there to read the words to her. Her kindergarden brother already reads to her when they play games at their favorite computer website so this one should work great. The service was great too. It arrived quickly and was well packaged.
